Check out this blog and possibly win a signed New Moon Poster!

Three years ago I was talking with my friend and neighbor Rochelle about this new series I'd read and how much it intrigued me, and kind of lamenting the fact that I had no one to discuss it with. "It's a *teen* book," I said apologetically, because at that point no one knew that *I* was writing for teens. And I didn't think many grown women read *teen* books.
*SNORT*
She pointed to a house down the street and said, "If you're talking about TWILIGHT, the lady that runs the main fan site for it lives right there." So I offered to mow Lori Joffs' lawn if she'd talk about TWILIGHT with me (which was a LIE, because I've never mowed a lawn in my LIFE). She did. She had A LOT to say, as you can imagine.
Then, last fall, I had the pleasure of meeting Jen Lamoureux at a 100 Monkey's concert at The Wild Horse in Nashville. I'd just gone on submission to publishers with HOURGLASS, and I was letting off steam, and I may have been wearing a pimp hat with a leopard print ribbon and I may have had a shot or two of ... well, anyway ... I'm glad Jen still gave me a chance to be her friend.
So today to The Fort, let's welcome Lori Joffs and Jen Lamoureux from the Twilight Lexicon, a site I really respect, because they report valid news and stay away from the gossip.

Favorite game (think summer, flashlight tag, Marco Polo)?

Sun worshipper, spray tan or SPF 50?
Lori: SPF 50 - I don't tan, I pink!
Jen: SUN PLEASE!!! I am not a Vampire
Beach or lake? Boat or shore?
Lori: Beach... boat
Jen: Beach although a boat is preferable to shore, sand gets in all the wrong places!
Air conditioning or open windows?
Lori: Air conditioning
Jen: Open windows. New Englanders don't have air conditioning! LOL
Favorite summer drink?
Lori: Diet Dr. Pepper with cherry flavor from Sonic! LOL!
Jen: Pomegranate Pick Me Up from Jamba Juice but there isn't one close so ICED COFFEE by the bucket full.

Jen: The Proposal- I mean Betty White Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds all in one place!!! Who's the ideal male mascot for The Fort and why?
Lori: Charlie Bewley! (I couldn't resist!) He's sexy, funny, has a great accent, and on the verge of being the next big thing I think.
*Myra interjects* Did you know CB is my BFF? He is. Not that *he* knows. But it's fine.
Jen: Bewley? Really??? Xavier Samuel is my guy. Australian, cute and have you seen the lips!
*Myra interjects again* The lips are WRONG. SO WRONG.
Marshmallows, lightly toasted or burned to a crisp?
Lori: Lightly toasted
Jen: Out of the jar with a spoon!
Awake all night or first one to sleep?
Lori: Awake aaaaaaaallllll night. I have such trouble sleeping!
Jen: All night long, all night ohoh......sorry must have been channeling Lionel Richie *hangs head in shame* and no I am not that old
If awake all night, practical joke or no?
Lori: No jokes. Just reading.
Jen: Ohhh the jokes!!! I used to work at a summer camp and one of the classics was hiding digital clocks around a cabin and setting them to go off at random times in the middle of the night or the ultimate was when we were fighting with the male lifeguards (I was the head lifeguard) and we took their mattresses, bedding and all and put them on the floating dock in the middle of the lake. It was pretty sweet.
If you could have any YA author visit The Fort and tell stories, who would it be and what story would you ask them to tell?
Lori: I'd like to talk to LM Mongomery and see if she had any idea Anne would be such an inspiration and popular series for as long as it has been. But that's hard to do since she's not around any more!
Jen: It would have to be JK Rowling. There is so much depth to the Harry Potter series and world that I want to just crawl around inside her head and see how it works.
AND BECAUSE THEY ARE AWESOME, the Twilight Lexicon is giving away a ... New Moon Poster signed by Gil Birmingham (Billy Black) Mike Welch (Mike Newton) Peter Facinelli (Dr. Cullen) and Charlie Bewley (Demetri)!
